FREE workshop June 6-7 in NE for world language teachers!

May 30, 2016

Great news! Lincoln Public School District and the NE State Department of Education have agreed to open up next week’s workshop for up to 50 teachers from other states. Participants from outside the state of Nebraska will be able to attend for FREE but must bring their own lunch (lunch is provided for NE teachers). Additionally, I (Martina) am requesting that each out-of-state participant bring a donation for the class library of a language teacher in the Lincoln Public School District—any book in Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Spanish that a middle or high school student might be interested in and reasonably able to read. This is an incredibly generous offer by Lincoln Public Schools, since they are hosting the workshop and contributed half of the funding, and building their class libraries is a good way to say “thank you”!

  • What: 2 day Workshop with Martina Bex sponsored by a partnership between NDE and LPS
  • When: Monday, June 6 (9am-4pm) and Tuesday, June 7 (9am-3pm)
  • Where: Lincoln, NE – Schoo Middle School (Address: 700 Penrose Dr, Lincoln, NE 68521)
  • Who: K-12 educators who will be in a World Language classroom during the 2016-2017 academic year.

Out of state participants can register at this link, and you will receive confirmation of registration within 24 hours. Click here to register. Upon registering, please complete this survey to help me finalize the workshop details!
