COCO has captured our hearts, and if you are anything like me--you can't wait to share it with your students!

The Unfair Game® is the perfect way to keep the learning going without taking away from the joy of the film! All 25 questions and answers are written in simple Spanish that first year students can understand with teacher guidance. The game is an interactive PDF with clickable in-document hyperlinks that will work in any PDF viewing software. A one-page guide is included for students to record the information shared in the game questions.

As students play, they will learn about the following individuals, places, and celebrations and understand how they are connected to the film Coco:

  • Frida Kahlo
  • El Santo
  • Chavela Vargas
  • Guanajuato
  • El Día de los Muertos

This is the third pack of Comprehensible Classroom activities for COCO. This game is intended to be played after watching minutes 25:00-57:00 of COCO.

  • You can't go wrong with any resource from the Comprehensible Classroom! I love the unfair game, although I often play it by pairing students up and having them compete against each other. Students are more engaged that way!

    Jaime L.
  • Since students are always looking for ways not to do any work. By having them know there will be follow-up activities and getting into a healthy competition, students have no choice but to engage. These resources, as always, are wonderful!

    Laura Shible
  • The students loved the unfair game. At first they were frustrated, but after they got the hang of it they really enjoyed it. No I try to incorporate one in every unit.

    Caitlin Sanford
  • These resources are very engaging and productive ! They promote retention of the material as well as motivation for the students. I really appreciate and value your time and talents. ¡Muchas Gracias!
