¡Búscalo! Lesson Plans

November 18, 2011

DAY ONE

  1. Campanada: ¿Qué tienes que es muy especial para ti? (What do you have that is very special to you?)
  2. Introduce Vocabulary for Búscalo

DAY TWO

  1. Campanada: Translate this sentence: El estudiante busca un lápiz porque no está preparado para la clase de matemáticas. Finalmente, él encuentra un lápiz. (The student looks for a pencil because he's not prepared for math class. Finally, he finds a pencil.)
  2. Storyasking for ¡Búscalo!
  3. Up/Down formative listening assessment

DAY THREE

  1. Campanada: Type up a portion of the story and eliminate key words or details. Have students fill in the missing details.
  2. Before and After
  3. Free Write: students must use the terms 'busca', 'encuentra' and 'sabe' in their writing piece

DAY FOUR

  1. Campanada: Type up one of the free writes from yesterday and have students correct it, then circle/discuss/personalize it.
  2. Emotions Analysis: Choose between the emotions "surprised", "sad", "happy", and "angry"
  3. ¡Búscalo! reading - I used this as an assessment (hence the re-take on page 2) because I needed another reading grade, but you could just project the text and read it together in class. Here is a projector-friendly version: ¡Búscalo! projectable reading
