Conditional Clause Discussion Prompt in Spanish
Multi level
15 Pages

Whether you are working with "si" clauses or looking for ways to unshelter grammar in your early levels of Spanish, these imaginative discussion prompts will provide interesting content to talk about and scaffold student expression and interpretation.

This product features:

  • 12 "Si tú fueras [un animal/una bebida/una celebridad]...¿cuál serías?" slides
  • A one-page handout version of the 12 slides
  • A second version of the handout that doesn't offer options (for open-ended conversation)
  • Ideas for implementation

Spend a single class period discussing all of the slides, or discuss one slide per day over an extended time period.

  • This is a beautifully laid out and illustrated way to expose students to the subjunctive/conditional phrases. Love it! I'm pretty intimidated by feeling the need for my Spanish 3/4 students to be proficient in the subjunctive and conditional tenses and never am sure how to work it in without overwhelming with moods and tenses, etc. This is a perfect way to begin!

  • I used this to gradually introduce the subjunctive and conditional without overwhelming students with rules. This activity is fun and makes these newer concepts/tenses more comprehensible to students. Great conversation supporter!

  • Congratulations! You created a great resource to practice subjuntive and conditional in a fun, non threatening way. Great conversation starter.

  • We used this as a jumping point to provide some context and some ideas for conversation using the "si yo fuera" target structure. I have to teach the subjunctive as part of the required curriculum and this was a very meaninful way to do it.

  • My students love these fun games during class. I loved this and "uno se tiene que ir". Thanks for finding such fun activies that allow for comprehensible input. Thanks so much.
