El ketchup and Aserejé

This lesson plan will leave your Spanish 1/2 students with ketchup on the brain! It starts with a discussion about ketchup (yum! who doesn't love it?), includes a viewing guide and a CLOZE listening activity for a 9 minute Spanish language video segment by the Discovery Channel about how ketchup is made at the Heinz factory in Guadalajara, then introduces your students to the awesome dance anthem, Aserejé, by Las Ketchup, with a song lyrics sheet that includes a group biography in Spanish. The plans also include two additional activities that use authentic resources: a reading about Las Ketchup and two cartoons/jokes.
