COCO has captured our hearts, and if you are anything like me--you can't wait to share it with your students!
These materials are designed to be used BEFORE watching COCO with your students. All resources are written in simple Spanish that students in late Spanish 1 and beyond will be able to understand. This product includes the following materials that will fill 90-120 minutes of class:
- 2 news articles from EL MUNDO EN TUS MANOS about COCO (pre-release)
- a 9-page slideshow reading with photos that introduces Day of the Dead and highlighting various elements of the celebration that are present in COCO and an accompanying worksheet
- a one page reading about the first scene of COCO, also provided in slideshow form, with a complete glossary
- a partially completed family tree
- discussion questions
- lesson plans
