This Spanish-language reading for Novice Spanish learners and beyond will teach students about a Colombian woman who has worn the same clothing every day for 23 years because of a promise that she made to a Catholic saint. The file includes a one-page Spanish reading with a page of comprehension activities. The reading targets the structures "lleva el mismo [vestido]" and "todos los días".

I use this reading after «Somos» Unit 20, "Ladrones", which also targets the structure "lleva el mismo vestido.

  • Fun reading to add to our unit on clothing!

  • This is a quick and interesting little story for my students to read and work with on their own during distance learning. It is comprehensible enough and supportive enough that they can work with the text without me there.

  • Thorough lesson plans, the story is fascinating and engaging for students.

  • What a unique resource. This is a story that is so original and interesting. The kids are engaged because they just want to know "why?" Works great if you are doing any sort of clothing unit.

  • This was a great activity. My advanced kids worked on their own while, worked with those who needed help. Kids were surprised by how much they understood.
