I always wanted to share recipes with my students, but never knew exactly how to work it into the curriculum as a unit. With the help of some friends around the Spanish speaking world, Somewhere to Share is pleased to have created this unit, Recipe Talks o Charlas sobre recetas. Each recipe includes how-tos, a recipe card, and a video of a Spanish-speaker talking about the recipe. With 6 recipes to choose from, there is something for everyone!
Recipe Talks is great as a stand-alone unit in your current curriculum. It is also unit 6 of the Huellas 1 curriculum from Somewhere to Share.
This product contains:
- A one week recipe based unit for students from level 2-4
- 6 recipes to choose from
- Plátanos en tentación, Tortilla española, Guacamole, Tortillas de maíz y de harina, Pupusas y Gorditas dulces
- Authentic listening activities for each recipe

Though the hands-on part of this unit wasn't approachable for me, I was able to pull from the other material for a food unit! I actually used it as enhancements for the Comer para vivir unit!

This was just what I needed to supplement my "En la cocina" unit. Students LOVED the opening stations activity. I have a very small class of 4 students, and we worked together as a group to complete each station. Gracias.

We had a blast following these recipes synchronously on Google Meet. Much was hard about the covid19 lockdown, this made my life easier and the students were engaged, cameras on and participating

The students LOVE units about food because it's one of their passions! This is such a fun unit to do with them and has such an easy cultural tie-in by using dishes from various countries and traditions.
