Just wanted to take a minute and let y’all know to not be expecting many new plans in the next few weeks, since I will be quite busy with the newest addition to our family! Leland Joseph was born on Saturday, six days before his due date and about three weeks after I was ‘done’ being pregnant! My students will be finishing out the last nine days of the school year in the capable hands of my former intern, Julia.
In the meantime, I’d love to participate passively in my blog…perhaps YOU can do some writing? With this school year wrapping up, I know that we are all thinking about what we’d like to do differently next year. What are you looking to implement (content, strategies, anything!) next year that you didn’t this year? Are there any great resources (videos, 2.0 tools, texts, topics) that you are dying to use but don’t know how?
The reason I ask is that I will be staying home with my boys next year (my dream!!), and while I will probably do some tutoring or MAYBE some part-time teaching, I will have more time to develop plans from home. If there is anything that you are dying to do but just don’t have time to put together, let me know and I would love to tackle it for you!!

Congratulations!!! I stayed home with my boys when they were little and I loved every moment of it. No lie, there were some pull my hair moments but for the main part, I loved it!! I’m sure that I speak for others when I say that we will miss you terribly. I use so many of your ideas. I am going to be lost with you. I hope that you keep this website up and keep in touch with us whenever you get a free moment (if there is such a thing with two little ones!) Congrats again and Enjoy your time with your family.

Martina, I want to congratulate you on your new baby!! Felicidades. I have met you before and wanted to compliment you one last time for being such an awesome teacher. I have your posts delivered into my email. I read most of them this year and have used several of your ideas for games and Houdini and more. You are so creative, innovative and organized!!! My kids loved your trashketball game and we adapted that to practice vocab and questions about the Houdini and Pirates book and more. I also wanted to share with you that the soundtrack for Pirates is awesome and the Houdini one is very well-done also. My students really chuckled at some of the sound effects.
I will be retiring and you are welcome to have any of my PQA power points for Houdini and Pirates. I have visuals with PQA’s on the power points with some of the vocab from those stories and more. I ask the kids the questions and often have them pair with their table partners, flechas rojas and flechas azules. (face and shoulder partners- sticky notes are taped to their desks with arrows-that worked so well this year)
