Garbanzo is a web application for language teachers and students that features a large, interactive library of lessons. Co-founded by The Comprehensible Classroom and Zaengle Corp, Garbanzo currently contains over 1000 stories and informational texts in Spanish. Now, we are excited to begin building a library for English Language Learners (ELLs)!

Garbanzo is currently accepting applications for the position of ELL Author. The Garbanzo ELL Author will build a digital library of interactive texts for English Language Learners by writing original texts and adapting existing Garbanzo lessons on www.garbanzo.io from Spanish to English, taking into account the needs, background knowledge, and interests of ELL learners of different ages with a variety of linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
The Garbanzo ELL author must be fluent in Spanish and English. Our ideal candidate will have experience teaching English to English Language Learners, a deep understanding of comprehension-based teaching, and strong writing skills that include the ability to develop processing questions based on a text and using them meaningfully to support comprehension.
