This is a script that I wrote to get lots of practice with the three singular forms of the verbs "querer" and "tener". You can make the script less scripted by having the class decide what your main character wants to do and what s/he needs in order to do it.
HIGH FREQUENCY STRUCTURES:
- quiere leer - s/he/it wants to read
- tiene gafas - has glasses
SCRIPT: Ana quiere leer un libro. El libro se llama La oruga muy hambrienta. Pero hay un problema - Ana no tiene sus gafas. Ana habla con su amigo Antonio. Le dice, “Antonio, quiero leer un libro, pero no tengo mis gafas. ¿Tú tienes mis gafas?” Antonio dice, “No, yo no tengo tus gafas. Pero tengo un perro muerto. ¿Lo quieres?” Ana responde, “No, gracias, Antonio. Sólo quiero mis gafas.” Ana está frustrada porque quiere leer su libro. Ella habla con su amigo Elena. Le dice, “Elena, quiero leer un libro, pero no tengo mis gafas. ¿Tú tienes mis gafas?” Elena responde, “No, yo no tengo tus gafas. Pero tengo un novio feo. ¿Lo quieres? Ana responde, “No, gracias, Elena. Sólo quiero mis gafas.” Ana está frustradísima porque quiere leer su libro. Ella habla con su amigo Juan. Le dice, “Juan, quiero leer un libro, pero no tengo mis gafas. ¿Tútienes mis gafas?” Juan responde, “Sí, yo tengo tus gafas. Ana le pregunta, “¿Por qué?.” Juan dice, “Porque te quiero y necesito gafas para ver tu cara bonita.”
