Jorge el curioso

I wrote this story to introduce some of the vocabulary for Chapter 3 of Pobre Ana. TARGET STRUCTURES

1. lo/la agarra - s/he grabs it

PRACTICE SENTENCES

1. Mi hermano agarra la galleta más grande. My brother grabs the biggest cookie.
2. Mi mamá se enoja cuando yo miro la televisión. My mother gets angry when I watch TV.
3. Las muchachas tienen miedo de los muchachos. Girls are afraid of boys.
4. Victoria camina hacia la puerta al fin de la clase. Victoria walks toward the door at the end of class.
5. Yo tengo miedo cuando mi papá se enoja. I am afraid when my dad gets angry.

PERSONALIZED QUESTIONS FOR CLASS DISCUSSION

1. ¿Tu mamá/papá se enoja cuando __? (no haces la cama, miras la televisión, gritas a tus hermanos, etc.) Does your mom/dad get angry when __? (You don't make the bed, you watch TV, you yell at your siblings, etc.)
2. ¿Tienes miedo de __? (arañas, hablar en público, viajar por avión, etc.) Are you afraid of __? (spiders, speaking in public, traveling on a plane, etc.)
3. Give directions: Camina hacia __. Ahora, corre hacia __. Mira hacia __. Walk toward __, now run toward, look toward, etc.
4. ¿Qué agarras cuando __? (abres el refrigerador, vas al baño, vas al supermercado, etc.) What do you grab when __? (you open the fridge, you go to the bathroom, you go to the grocery store, etc.)
5. ¿Cuándo te enojas? When do you get mad? (Or, "When does __ get mad? (your math teacher, your best friend, your sister, etc.))

SCRIPT Jorge es muy curioso. Un día, Jorge ve la guitarra de su hermano. Él quiere tocarla. Camina hacia la guitarra y la agarra, pero se explota. He walks toward the guitar and grabs it, and it explodes. His brother gets mad and yells, “You big jerk!” Jorge is afraid. He runs to his mom's room. In his mom's room, Jorge sees his mom’s underwear. He wants to wear it! He walks toward the underwear and grabs it, and he puts it on. His mother gets mad and yells, “You pervert!” Jorge is afraid. He runs to his friend’s house. At his friend’s house, Jorge sees his friend’s dog. He wants to eat it! He walks toward the dog and grabs it, and sticks it in the oven. His friend gets mad and yells, “You jerk!” Jorge is afraid. He runs away, but his friend grabs him and sticks him in the oven with the dog.
