20 Biographies d'athlètes célèbres

Introduce students to famous athletes from across the Francophone world with this collection of 20 comprehensible French biographies and accompanying reading activities.

Each one-page biography is written in French with high frequency verbs and introduces students to an athlete’s life, sport, accomplishments, and interesting personal details. Helpful vocabulary is footnoted in English to support comprehension, and a quick-reference section highlights each athlete’s date of birth, sport, awards, personal record, and a fun fact.

Each biography is followed by a one-page comprehension activity that gives students multiple ways to process what they read. Students answer either/or questions in French, determine whether statements are true or false, and complete an English summary using a word bank.
