Make your clothing unit more communicative! This ready-to-use resource helps beginning Spanish students develop clothing vocabulary through speaking, listening, reading, writing, movement, and personalized communication.
Designed for Spanish 1, these activities are easy to incorporate into any existing clothing unit or textbook chapter. Rather than simply memorizing vocabulary, students use high-frequency language such as llevar, comprar, gustar and costar to describe clothing, express preferences, and communicate about themselves and others.
This resource includes:
- Muévete si… – An interactive movement game that gets students listening, responding, and making personal connections.
- Sentence Bingo – A listening and reading activity that reinforces clothing vocabulary and verb phrases in context, with printable and paperless options.
- Info Gap Running Dictation – A collaborative activity featuring 8 posters, student worksheets, answer keys, and review slides.
- Detailed teacher instructions and a suggested lesson sequence.
Students will:
- Communicate using high frequency verbs such as llevar, comprar, gustar and costar
- Identify and describe clothing
- Express preferences and discuss what people wear
- Interpret spoken and written Spanish
- Communicate and collaborate with classmates
The activities build on one another to provide repeated exposure to clothing vocabulary in meaningful contexts. Students move, play, listen, read, and communicate while developing their Spanish proficiency.
