This resource includes a printable reading about El Día del Niño en México (April 30) along with a one-page comprehension activity in the format of a glyph. The product also includes a personalized glyph in which students color an image based on their impressions of what kids would want for this special day. Finally, it includes several post cards that can be printed, colored, and filled out by students to send to kids that they know!

My students loved using the evidence of the text to complete coloring for a "purpose" (to see what the image was). I do a similar reading activity to find evidence in the text without the coloring (like a agree/disagree chart based on one fact), and the coloring aspect motivated my students so much more!
