Make your students fall in love with this song in Spanish class! In 2017, Bruno Mars sang a Spanish/English version of Just the way you are at the One Voice/SOMOS Live benefit concert for Puerto Rico. The Spanish portion of the song had been adapted by Chilean YouTuber Dani Ride.
This short song segment is a perfect Song of the Week for early Spanish classes. With simple, repetitive lyrics and an easy rhythm, students can sing along to the Spanish verses with ease. Use this song during Black History Month to highlight the diversity of afrolatinos around the world by sharing some of Bruno Mars' biography.

Most of my students were familiar with the English version of this song. This made the Spanglish version fairly easy for them even if they didn't know all the Spanish words. Good resource for Black History Month and any time you want to enjoy a song
